Mount Abu Toll Naka Fraud exposed2 22 Sept 2018.

Fraud nexus exposed at Mount Abu Toll barrier.

Reality or an Illusion Mount Abu Toll Naka.
More than one lakh was collected by the Anti-Corruption Bureau from workers during a recent search at the Mount Abu Toll Naka. The ACB Bureau has received complaints concerning mismanagement by the people assigned to this position.
This operation showing the relationship between the employees and manning the entry of motor traffic into Abu comes as no surprise to us Abuites. Abuites are relieved that action has been taken and that this heinous unlawful collecting lining these people's coffers has been revealed.
Inquiries are being conducted to determine the scope and depth of this criminal duplication of the money nexus.
The main problem is that when unaccounted money exceeds 100,000 rupees on a regular day, it's difficult to predict they exchanged how much on weekends and holidays when thousands of people come to Abu.
We'll keep you updated when new information becomes available.

Impact of post Monsoon on Mount Abu. [ 20/09/2018 ]

 Down to earth for Abuites.

"Plummy looking majestic in the background."
Took this snap while driving down Abu Road with Harry & Mohan

Plummy with its mantle of green.

The fading sun smiling on thee,

The monsoons have retreated,

The fruit trees are preparing,

Hope for the fauna

To survive the onslaught of the coming,

SUMMER.

As the monsoons in Abu conclude by the end of September, with only an occasional shower lingering into early October, we must prepare for what comes next. The Rajasthan Government, along with local authorities, must develop a comprehensive action plan for effective water resource management.

Abu needs to address the ongoing water mismanagement and repairing the leaks in our existing reservoirs. Construing new dams is essential to meet the demands of our growing population. The concerned citizens of Abu have put forth countless proposals and recommendations, only to be met with the government’s slow response. It’s high time that we, the residents of Abu, take a stand and push the authorities to pay serious attention to the challenges we face.

I’ve heard through the grapevine that our household water supply will soon resume, but with significant restrictions. We may receive water every three days, and if the situation worsens, this could extend to every four days.

This is a heartfelt appeal to both tourists and fellow Abuites: Please take care not to dispose of garbage or waste into our precious Nakki Lake—it is our lifeline. During the summer months, especially in times of drought, the water from Nakki Lake sustains our homes. Let’s work together to protect this invaluable resource for the sake of our community’s future.

Monsoons in the Abode Extreme and variable Mount Abu.

Weather report Monsoons in Mount Abu 13 Sept 2018

Snaps in this post per Kind favour Ms Trina.

The Monsoons have been extreme and variable over the Abode of the gods since the year 2010. The dry spell that haunted Mount Abu prior to 2010 was over. All our water bodies, the lake, reservoirs and other small water bodies since have all overflowed.
Last year, torrents of sudden record-breaking rainfall devastated Abu. Mt. Abu: Received 141mm on 23rd July 773 on 24th July and 734mm on 25th July 1698mm in 3 days “On 23 July 2017” Mount Abu Recorded the highest-ever recorded rainfall in its history in the last 100 years.
The changing climate scenario, over the last decade, goes to show that there is an increase of weird and extreme monsoon seasons that pose catastrophic events of flooding or drought in an area not affected before.
In contrast to the last 8 years of recording plentiful rain, this season so far has been below average. The Nakki lake has still 31/2 feet to overflow. Our Lower Kodra dam our main water supplying dam needs another 20 feet of water to overflow.

20 Feet to GO.

It's doubtful if the rain gods change their favour and smile upon their Abode and shower some more rain to tide us over for the year of 2019. We Abuites will just have to resign to the fact that our water supply will continue every alternate day or if the need is every third day. The days are still cloudy but, the weather report has confirmed the retreat of the monsoons in our area.

Once again bear attack Mount Abu [ 9 Sept 2018 [

Army firing range bear attacked a local Abuite Mt Abu.

A screenshot was taken for the video per kind favour Harry

This morning, once again, another Local Abuite was attacked by a bear near the Army firing range. After yesterday's bear attack in my immediate neighbourhood, one would have thought folks would be more cautious. The day has been lousy, weather-wise misty and dreary with a slight drizzle off and on. The guy who was exposed must have suddenly chanced upon the bear, provoking the attack. In this area, the firing range is a haunt of bears during the monsoon season.
They will probably post shortly the video that is making its rounds of the treatment at the civil hospital via WhatsApp on the web.
Very fortunate for this individual, he could escape without too much damage to his face.

Just received this snap from Charles via WhatsApp.

Breaking News Bear on Rampage Mount Abu.

A bear attack near NeelKanth Temple area

Sloth Bear Mount Abu

Early morning 5:45 am all hell broke loose. From across the stream where we live we heard squealing of at least two dogs. My daughter and self-jumped out of bed and ran out shouting at the top of our voices SHOO, SHOO we thought the leopard had struck. There was also pandemonium a litter further down the road.
I had ventured out the gate with my spotlight to see if I could see spot anything but due to the dense foliage, I presumed the leopard had disappeared with his prey in the background.
Man, I was very fortunate as it was not the leopard as we had assumed but a mother bear and her cubs. If I had been the victim of her attack I would have been ripped up as my one arm crutch would have been of no avail in fending off the bear.
The bear probably attacked the dogs that were passing this way and then moved off in the direction of the Neelkant Temple where it attacked a woman ripping off her ear and mauling her on the arm. The bear then moved towards the All India Radio station where a man who was outside the gate was severely mauled in his leg. The victims are currently undergoing treatment in the Global Hospital.

A local Abuite is on his way to Baba Ramdev's shrine.

Today while I was out birding I saw a few guys on bicycles. This aroused my curiosity, and I flagged one of them and asked him where he was going. He introduced himself as Shanti Lal. He and 5 others from Delaware Mount Abu were travelling 460 km to attend the Ramdevra Fair and pay homage to the saint at Ramdev Temple in Rajasthan. The temple is located 13 km from Pokhran on the Jodhpur-Jaisalmer road. Aba Ramdev’s followers regard him as the incarnation of Lord Krishna, while Muslims venerate him as Ramshah Pir. His followers are from Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Millions of his followers take this annual pilgrimage from Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and other parts of India.
Ramdev Jayanti is a public holiday in the Indian state of Rajasthan. The major celebration of Ramdev Jayanti takes place at the temple dedicated to him.

Volkswagen Car crashes into wall Mount Abu.

Three men are apprehended by Mount Abu police after a car crash.

Volkswagen Car crashes into wall Mount Abu."
Volkswagen Car crashes into wall Mount Abu.

A Volkswagen car late last night or early this morning crashed into the wall opposite the All India Radio station, Mount Abu. A local Abuite saw the crashed car and went to check it. He saw that the driver of the car and two other young men in the back seats were fast asleep. As there seemed to be no sign of injury to any of the three men he left. Later Mount Abu cops came and apprehended the three men.
The question arises when the three are under the influence of alcohol that they are not even aware of their surroundings. If they were then they have landed themselves in deep trouble. It's fortunate that there was no other vehicle at the time the driver lost control of his vehicle. From the crash scene, it can be presumed he must have been zipping.
Will update as and when more news is received.
