A Blast From the Past Mount Abu.

A Blast From the Past Mount Abu.

I hadn’t been to the Flickr website for a very long time. Today when I saw the site; it was nostalgic, to say the least. Those were the days when I used my Stony Point and shoot cameras. I’ve downloaded a few pictures to share on my blog. Flickr is a wonderful site to share your photos and your thoughts, to see the rest of my amateur photographs, head over to…Flicker

Mount Abu

Charisma infinite! That is only what Abu is. Abu is a place with infinite charisma, full of myths, astonishing topography, and a magnificent mythical and factual history. The sages who resided here aeons ago sealed its mysteries. Researchers, writers and present-day sages are still searching for the elusive answer as to the accurate history of Abu’s glorious past. Legend has it that the Gods charmingly carved out 'The Famous Nakki Lake' midst of hills using their nails. It’s one of Abu’s chief lifelines, it provides leisure for the thousands of tourists who visit this calm lake. In times of water scarcity, it is the lifeline of the local populace.

Plummy enlightened

I illuminate my face for the world to see.
I’m Plummy from Abu smiling on Thee,
Climb to my pinnacle and feel free,
Birds of Paradise reside in me.

Setting sun

20th June 2007 the sun at its maximum Northward journey in the Northern Hemisphere is captured in this picturesque scenery from Honey Moon point. It’s a dazzling place with lovely scenic scenes. A genuine lover’s paradise. If you ever drop into Abu, this is one place to visit, especially when the sun is setting.

Fading sunset Abu

The fading sunset filled the sky with hue. My heart was racing thinking of you,
The times we had spent together came crashing through,
Although I’m no poet, I cannot forget you. So Love come to Abu,
I’m waiting for you.

The Lonely Toad Rocks

Weathering all seasons, pining for a dip in the sweltering sun, this toad, the overseer of the majestic Nakki Lake, is another legendary tourist attraction of Abu.

PLUMMY 'The Hill That Launched A Thousand Legs"

If one has passed out of St. Mary’s High School on Mount Abu and never climbed to the peak of this mammoth, he has lost the thrill of a lifetime. To all Ex-students who never made it there, there’s still time to get those creaking legs of yours and head up the hill.

The Golden Horn

The Golden Horn mountaineers challenge and delight. To conquer or not to conquer? That’s the challenge posed by this Horn. One false step and one could end up dangling down a sheer cliff face, looking into a valley of certain death.
Tourists should take a guide along with them.

The Achalgarh Fort

The Achaleswar Mahadev Temple lies within the remarkable Fort of Achalgarh. Legend has it that it was created by Lord Shiva when he placed his feet to stop an earthquake.
It’s a temple that has been standing for more than 2,500 years, and it is the only place on earth where people worship the toe of Lord Shiva.

Flight to Freedom

Freedom is my birthright. Come on mates, join me on my flight.
We gotta make an impression on this world and show them what is right.
This mail I received today wanna gives it its right to keep it alive by clicking on this link to the right

Abu’s Stonehenge

This isn’t the Stonehenge as seen in England. These pillars, erected at this vantage point overlooking Trevor's tank, serve to protect careless tourists from flying into space, especially those enthusiastic ones who have had one too many after a day's picnic by the tank.

The rising Surya

Every morning I awaken to greet the rising sun. Some days it's bright and sunny beckoning me to have some fun. On other days, it’s gloomy and grey and question why I do not pray.
