Magical April 2014

It’s the end of April 30, 2014. India is about to weather one of its most significant political upheavals this summer. Could this lead to a more stable and honest government, resulting in a better frame of mind for the country? The world is observing and waiting in keen anticipation for the results of the election that will end in mid-May 2014.
The Abode is beginning to stew with the summer temperatures already touching 40oC.  Temperatures in the plains are at 45 C and there have been unexpected heavy downpours and hail, disappointing farmers. May usually has rain, but this year there have been heavy downpours and hail in many places, disappointing farmers. il is a mystic month here in this oasis as flowers bloom in myriad hues, and birds in large numbers have their first offspring for the season. The arrival of summer beckons tourists from around to escape from the scourging heat of the plains and take some respite in this Abode.
Mount Abu the destination for all seasons welcomes pilgrims and tourists to relax in its inhospitable environment. And remember the summer festival is close to the corner.
WELCOME TO THE ABODE OF GOD.

The जागरण or vigil on top of the hill. Mt.Abu

In India, anything can happen

Across the hill, in a dusty old shack,
There lives a wench, with six small brats,
She’s possessed, and “it's” hell to see,
Her body swaying beyond physical constraints,
Her long black hair being whirled in frenzy,
Her husband and kids “its” plain to see,
Cannot comprehend what nature his in-store them.
They have sent for the soothsayer to constrain the beast,
That beats in the body of this young female who’s looking to be free.

I have observed over the last few years, this young woman who apparently appears to be possessed going into a frenzy on many an occasion. Now whether she’s possessed or suffering from some medical disorder I have no idea, I for one dismiss the idea of possession, it’s probably some medical disorder.
Frequently, soothsayers are called in to see if they can contain the beast within. Last night they had the जागरण  or vigil, as is commonly known in this part of the world, to see if they could oust the affliction that has been tormenting this young woman for so long . Thankfully their vigil was on a low key otherwise it’s normally accompanied with loud beating of drums and speakers that keep the whole neighborhood cussing from getting a proper shuteye.
I believe at the end of their vigil till, after sunrise, they will then offer an appeasement as sacrificing a black goat. If I observe no more strange happenings across the hill and a woman free of her ills, it just may make me a believer that there is more to the human psyche than meets the eye.

Modus operandi i2cworld_inc3 with cahoots’ Ebay India

“GREETINGS FROM THE ABODE OF THE GODS”

AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014

I have been dealing with eBay India for quite some time now. Before I begin my rant I want to say that there are lot of really genuine sellers out there, honest traders doing authentic deals, but there are always nicks ready to take buyers on line for a ride and one such trader goes by the name i2cworld_inc3.

Well these charlatans get away with their fraud schemes, as they claim no liability for their product not working. They claim that in their adverts the item sold is to the mark. When I dropped them a mail.

Stating that they had duped me around Christmas time for a Nokia 520 phone I had purchased from them via the eBay they sent me this mail.

I next sent eBay a mail via EBay Guarantee “Raise a Claim”. I stated clearly on how the buyer had hoodwinked me into buying their phone via a reliable online`web site. This is the reference mail sent to them.

EBay were very prompt in sending me a confirmation mail and said they would look into the matter. ⬇️

A member of eBay who took down all the particulars related to my case and said the management would contact me shortly on phone.

Later in the day I was contacted by another personnel who tried to woo me with that they has nothing to do with transactions that happened on EBay Global Easy Buy. They also tried to point out that the advert given by the party was in line with their marketing ethics. This is the jest of the matter and the mail sent to me terminating any claim I had made.

The caption at the top of this mail had me in splits “EBay GuaranteeDon’t worry-Buy Happy!

And the link provide in the mail

http://geb.ebay.in/g/ImportHubViewItem?itemid=111233206586

Must have been hidden on the day I had purchased the item if I had seen what was advertised I certainly would not have bought the phone. Now that my rant is almost over I have a few questions for eBay.

1.Is it legal to sell under-contract locked phone, which are probably stolen/lost in USA (as it is still under contract.)

2. Has eBay scanned the document to see where it has been mentioned that the phone will not work in India?

3.I have been through this link of yours
It does leave loopholes for nefarious activities to be preformed. I feel you should make changes to your policies for the sake of your authentic buyers online. When a customer buys from eBay the customer expects it to be genuine and such listing should not be there in eBay in the first place, refer to this link –haven’t you a policy against listing of such locked devices-

 http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/encouraging-illegal-activity.html?clk_rvr_id=571539573674.

Now that I’ve made my point I would also like to publicly ask the personnel who have been taken for a ride on eBay to post their views and comment on the justification on eBay’s stance.

An extract from my dairy OH LIFE (28/12/2013) Mt.Abu

Me & my Mac.

My Mac arrived on the 15th Feb 2012, it's a truly impressive machine. The clarity has me blown away. It features an array of awe-inspiring gadgets and software. Using this camera is like talking to friends and family from outer space; it should be a pleasure. I'll need some time to get used to "its" workings since it's quite different from Windows.
To be honest, I still miss my Win 7 operating system. I do have it installed in parallel with this Mac. Once in a while, I know I will have to fall back on it akin to visiting an ole mate who has shared my deepest and darkest secrets.
This sleek Mac reminds me of a striking woman with slender and sophisticated features. This makes me take notice right away, and yes, this is how I got hooked on this sleek Mac. It reminds me of Liz when I first met her after my jaunts around the world.

My roving days ended after meeting her. Could this be adieu to my window episode with this newfound OS?
As the year 2013 is ending, a lot has happened; my Mac is running like a champ, and Windows has disappeared with my upgrade to Maverick OSX. I’m still recovering from my near-death experience. I’m learning to adjust to life, using my walker to move around and of late learning to hobble without it. In this Abode, I miss my brisk walks in the jungles. I’m a staunch believer in the adage, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!! Slow Down! Life is not a race. It is a journey. So as we now journey into the New Year 2014 let me wish all you caring folks “A joyous and stress-FREE NEW YEAR 2014”

Mount Abu an Update

Mount Abu an Update.A Horses Tale.

The Burning ghats of this area

We noticed two men trying to ride a horse up the steep steps going to the blazing Ghats of this location around 9 a.m.
The horse fell down these steps twice and somersaulted into the bushes below. It battled to its current position from there. Amit, an Abu vet, arrived to view the horse and informed the owners that the horse had a brain bleed. His compounders injected the horse with medication and then departed. The owner and a couple of his guests lingered for a while, perhaps waiting for the horse to get up and walk.

The Horse

Liz was seeing the animal suffer; she couldn't handle the sight. She called Kaizad, the guy in charge of the PFA, and asked him to look into the problem; he stated he couldn't do anything until the owner himself came forward and asked for his help. She immediately called the vet and asked him to put the suffering horse to sleep. He also stated that his hands were bound and that he couldn't do anything till the owner called him. She called Kaizad once again. He countered that the only thing he could do was notify the SDM Mount Abu, to which she answered, "Please do?" The clock has struck nine o'clock.
The horse is in horrible shape; one of its eyeballs has come out of its socket, and it occasionally goes into a severe spasm. I took a little video and will share it as soon as I upload it to my account.

The eyeball is under its head.

P.S.

The horse had to have died early in the morning. The jungle crows' "Kowws" at the crack of dawn, expressing the mood for an early breakfast, could be plainly heard. Fortunately, there aren't many jackals and hyenas in this region, or they'd have had a big feast during the night. The once-abundant vultures have vanished from this area.
The municipal JVC arrived at 9 a.m. to transport the carcass to the landfills.
