Following the Rajasthan Chief Minister's order, schools and other educational institutions closed down in mid-March due to COVID-19. The closure of our entry point followed this action for the public and tourists at the toll bar. Being the only roadway in the city, Abu took all precautions to monitor the movement of people in and out of Abu. So, with any luck, our effective lockdown and commitment to staying home will help preserve the current situation.
Abu relies heavily on tourism, so the lockdown will greatly impact its tourist industry and economy. By being enclosed, and hopefully, with no positive cases, we have time to recoup our resources. Abuites have a unanimous approach to handling anything that comes their way, including forest fires, droughts, and destructive storms.
The pandemic will test the mettle of Abuites in the coming weeks as this lockdown continues. Will the folks of Abu ride the storm of this uncertainty?
For now, Abu is adapting well to the current lockdown.
I’ll inform you of any new developments here as they happen.
Be SAFE STAY AT HOME

4 Days to Easter Mount Abu [ 08/04/2020 ]

Easter celebrates the defeat of death and the hope of salvation.

Full Moon 7 April 2020

Pink Full Moon

The Pascal Moon

In Uncertain Times, Embracing the Spectacular Super Pink Moon and Easter's Hope
According to "The Old Farmer's Almanack," the first full moon after the spring equinox is known as the "Pascal Full Moon" or the "Pink Moon." captivated by the moon's gorgeous rise, I couldn't help but photograph it last night.  Just like the moon, we should remain patient and persistent during these challenging times.'s a simple request to stay home, allowing the virus to run its course in the hopes of witnessing the final resolution, the silver lining of healing.
With Easter approaching on April 12, only a few days after this spectacular Pink Moon, I take consolation in the symbolism of this occasion. It's a time for fresh beginnings, rebirth, and the promise of brighter days ahead. Regardless of the current circumstances, which limit our customary festivities,
Wishing all a Wonderful Easter and hope the Easter Bunny enlightens your Lockdown days.
HAPPY EASTER FOLKS FROM THE ABODE OF GODS.

Nature at its best with human beings at rest Mount Abu.[ 07/04/2020 ]

COVID-19 Lockdown Lets Wildlife Go Wild

Damans in Action

Spring is in the air. Nature at its best, it's the time of the year when new life springs forth. Today 18 days into LOCKDOWN confined to our homes. Living on the hillside away from the maddening crowd, doing what I love best-photographing birds and wildlife.

Today Mount Abu has entered its 19 days of Lockdown. The hustle and bustle of the unending vehicular movement for the last fortnight has worked its charm on the wildlife of this small hill station. We have spotted leopards in quite a few places. Few sloth bears have ventured onto the outskirts of town. The group of grey langurs who used to depend on tourists for food and frequently visited the road leading to Abu, now forage in the jungle.. (a blessing in disguise).

Mount Abu isn’t the only sanctuary witnessing nature at play during this lockdown. The Animals are experiencing greater freedom of movement worldwide due to the lockdown. Hopefully, humanity realises it’s never too late to exist in harmony and peace with nature.

Coronavirus Outbreak: Live Updates Mount Abu Rajasthan [ 29/03/2020 ]

Chinese Wuhan virus or coronavirus.

Catch up on the latest on Mount Abu's day 4 lockdown.

Garfield wilds and living Free.

The wizard speaks. When I put this question to my cat Garfield, where’s the world headed? He watched me with his crystal blue eyes and meowed! Looks like Mount Abu, heck no India, is preparing for the invisible invasion (far more destructive than the nuclear blasts of 100 bombs) every time he shifted his crystal orbs I could see a veil of uncertainty and dread being played out the images of his focus kept shifting and his retort kept changing Heck, we and the world are in for a New Haul and new world order with changed perspectives of how Humans are to treat this planet Earth. I had seen enough, and a shudder went through me. Seeing my apprehension, finally closed his eyes and meowed, “The country that's focused and well prepared is gonna win. SO INDIA GO FOR IT! Folks STAY INDOOR BEAR WITH THE ISOLATION LIKE THE ANIMALS OF THE ZOO! JAI HIND!
Abuites in Mount Abu, under our present SDM Ravindra Goswamihave and Abu administration, responded well to his appeal "ALL HANDS ON DECK”.
Folks who have come to Abu from New Delhi, Mumbai, Australia and South Africa at the time of lockdown are under quarantine as a preventive measure. The Administration quarantined 35 Abuites in their homes. Well, now come to think of it we are also sailing in the same boat. Hopefully, our lockdown has come in time, and there are no positive cases to rock our boat.
The lives and livelihoods of 1.4 billion countrymen are at stake. The next 4 weeks are abs crucial and the cry of the Nation is “Stay at Home”. The media, WhatsApp and all other social media are in overdrive. Politicians are frantic, as they have proven no rightful solution to contain this epidemic.
Abuites and the district administration to keep everything in check have taken positive steps. They have formed teams in cooperation with Abu Administration. Brahma Kumaris has set up quarantine centres both in Mount Abu and Abu Road. The hotel association has pitched in and is helping with aid to the poor. And Abuites are all united in their effort to provide a helping hand where it’s most needed.

COVID-19 update Mount Abu [ 15/03/2020 ]

Abuites GET READY to take on the Challenge Posed by COVID-19.

To deal with a potential coronavirus outbreak, Abuites in Mount Abu need to plan ahead, and the length of the outbreak will depend on its severity. Abu, being a fashionable health resort, has daily visitors from all parts of the world. Abu health officials need to establish a community public health action to reduce exposure to COVID-19. Our Rajasthan Govt has already issued notices for all schools to close by 30 March 2020. I'm attaching the notice from the school to this effect,
