Monsoons & the Weatherman MT. ABU

Monsoons and the meteorologist MT. ABU

The monsoons this year have been erratic. The meteorologist has been caught with his pants down, his forecasts have gone haywire. He said it would be a profuse monsoon and would be better than average. It rained on July 10, 2010, and then again on August 8 with 6.2cm of rainfall. It stopped until August 11 with a small downpour. 5cm.
On the 12th night, the rain picked up some momentum and by this morning, Brother Gale had recorded 3 cm of rainfall. It rained profusely all day and by about three this afternoon the rain gauge measured 3.6cm. A little after 3pm the mist began to descend and the Abode right now is silent and covered with a heavy blanket of mist.
The lake overflowed today. Last year it was the Lower Khodra DAM that overflowed on the 13th of August 2011 and continued till the 28th of September 2011.
The level of the dam on the 10th of July this year was 36 feet, and right now, after today's rain, the level is 40 feet.  GOSH! 20 feet still to GO! If only the Gods work some चमत्कार (miracle) will this target be achieved? And by Jove, I definitely don’t want to be caught in the crossfire of having a flooded house this year. Every time there is a rise in the level of water after heavy and prolonged showers, Friends and Well-wishers phone in to ask if everything is OK!
