Monsoons in the Abode of the Gods Mount Abu 2015

Monsoons in the Abode Mount Abu

The Southwest monsoons previously made its presence felt by the 12th of June, and folks looked forward to a shower on the 13th the fest of St. Anthony, in Goa if the rains do not come by the 13th of June, farmers parade the saint’s statue through the villages, some immerse the statue in wells, while others may douse the statue with cold water, in retaliation for not keeping his rendezvous with the monsoons. Yesterday we saw our first monsoon clouds building up. There was a slight shower accompanied with faint thunder. I took some snaps with my mobile, which I’m now uploading to my blog.

The weatherman has predicted that this year there is going to be a modest monsoon. We in the Mount have learnt to judge the arrival of our rains with the onset of the monsoons hitting Mumbai. Once Mumbai receives its principal monsoon downpour we know that it will take approximately ten days to reach us. Hopefully, Mumbai receives its rain on time.
Last night the leopard attacked a Rottweiler, on the premises opposite the Jal Hotel in Dhoondai. The dog was fortunate that there were some locals and the security staff present at that time they made a hullaballoo and scared the leopard off.  Guess this round the dog got away, but will turn out to be so lucky if he is stalked on some other night in the future.
