Golf is set to take off next month at Mount Abu.
The game of the elites is all set to make a comeback to the Abode of the gods.
Golf enthusiasts played golf here in Abu many aeons ago. I do not know why golf was discontinued, probably went into limbo after the British and the shift of the Police Training Academy from Mount Abu. FINANCIAL restraints and no club to maintain the golf course accounted for its deterioration. Even the tiny pavilion overlooking the course is in shambles. See the snap below.

The Government has included Golf and Polo on the itinerary of the tourism program of Mount Abu Polo will come back from where we left it in 2008. The Rajasthan government is supporting all departments in Mount Abu to become an International Tourist center.
Mount Abu’s Salgaon dam project cleared.
Finally, Mount Abu received clearance for the much-awaited “Salgaon dam project”
It has taken 44 years! The people of Abu rejoice, this project will be a boon for us Citizens. Every year Abuites looked and lit havens to the rain gods for a favourable monsoon.
They rigidly controlled our water supply as the present capacity just about sufficed its water needs. A failed monsoon usually ends up in hardships all around. On the day of laying the foundation stone of the Salgaon dam project, the whole of Abu should rejoice and throw a grand party. I for one will raise my glass and drink to the health of the gods here in the Abode. Cheers š„
