 Embracing Mount Abu’s Chilly Charm

A cold spell, with the temperature at a brisk 1°C, had descended upon Mount Abu’s picturesque landscape by 6:45 a.m. A breathtaking sight greeted Abuites this morning—fields frosted over, a sparkling sign that winter has arrived. It’s the scene that draws winter lovers from near and far, offering a magical atmosphere that’s hard to resist.

The temperature dip has already attracted visitors from Gujarat, eager to experience the hill station’s signature chill. Mount Abu is bracing for a tourist boom as the holiday season, encompassing Christmas and New Year’s, approaches. Expect increased competition for lodging as visitors converge on this charming spot to embrace the winter atmosphere.

Adding to the festive charm, Nakki Lake has introduced a new “I LOVE MT ABU” selfie spot, a fun and vibrant addition to the area’s attractions this year. The upcoming Mount Abu Winter Celebrations, set to kick off on December 29th, promise to light up the hill station with performances from artists all over the country. As part of the celebrations, organizers will turn the streets of Abu into a sparkling wonderland, creating a cheerful ambiance for all to enjoy.

In my next post, I’ll share a detailed guide to the Winter Celebrations, so you won’t miss out on this exciting event!

For now, I’m off to bask in the winter sun and capture some moments of my feathered friends. Stay tuned for more updates, and let’s continue to explore the frosty beauty of Mount Abu together!

Mount Abu first Frost for this Season

MOUNT ABU FREEZES 15 DEC 2018.

WELCOME TO A CHILLY ABU

"Fields of frost due to last night's drop in temparatue ."
Last, Night's temperature dropped below Zero giving Abu the first frost this season.

"Children huddle in the morning's warm sun, their toes curled against the chill, their noses running but their faces aglow with joy."

WELCOME TO A CHILLY ABU
Winter light dances like poetry upon frost-kissed leaves, shimmering in the first rays of the rising sun. The vibrant purple sunbird flits through the trees, drinking from droplets of frost that glisten as they melt. Children huddle in the morning's warm sun, their toes curled against the chill, their noses running but their faces aglow with joy.

Welcome to the Abode of the Gods

Welcome to the Abode of the Gods—Mount Abu. Here, the sun’s warmth is a gentle balm, and the bite of the frosty dawn invigorates your spirit. The eternal calm of the hills and valleys invites you to surrender to their peacefulness and let your soul be carried away. Mount Abu whispers of escape in its blissful stillness—an invitation to leave behind the monotony of everyday life and step into something otherworldly.

The trees that did not shed their mantle of green
froze to death.

As the afternoon sun descends and a cool breeze grows stronger, the clear skies create ideal circumstances for frost to form later tonight. So take a tip from an old hand: set your beer bottles on the lawn tonight, and by tomorrow, you’ll have chilled beer to enjoy under the winter sun.
Cheers to our Winter Season.

An early morning walk down Pilgrim Road Mt. Abu

Last night the temperature must have fallen a great extent, the field around my house were covered with thick frost. The frost on the scooter seats were a sight to witness. I picked up my camera and headed for a walk down the old Pilgrim road, this was the road used by the Jain and other pilgrims. It is the road that leads to the world famous Delaware Temples and then on to Achalgarh and Gurushikar where there are temples that are also regularly visited by the devotees. I remember walking as a kid all the way to Gurushikar when the road leading to this place was only a pathway or rightly called a Pilgrims Road.
Today all roads that lead to Abu are tarred ones, the present Pilgrim road is also now known as the Neel Kant Road (literal translation would be Blue Pussy Road). This road today especially during the season period is far for from representing a Pilgrim Road it’s more of a Highway where vehicles ply bumper to bumper.
Have A LOOK AT SOME OF THE SNAPS I TOOK OF OUR FIRST FROST OF THE SEASON.
