COVID-19 update Mount Abu [ 15/03/2020 ]

Abuites GET READY to take on the Challenge Posed by COVID-19.

To deal with a potential coronavirus outbreak, Abuites in Mount Abu need to plan ahead, and the length of the outbreak will depend on its severity. Abu, being a fashionable health resort, has daily visitors from all parts of the world. Abu health officials need to establish a community public health action to reduce exposure to COVID-19. Our Rajasthan Govt has already issued notices for all schools to close by 30 March 2020. I'm attaching the notice from the school to this effect,

Spring is in the air Mount Abu [ 11/03/2020 ]

HAPPY HOLI TO ONE AND ALL FROM MT ABU.

On the last full moon day of the Hindu lung-solar calendar, we observed Holi. Holi is the end of winter and ushers in spring. We also celebrated the festival as a thanksgiving for a good harvest.
Spring this year has come to the abode earlier than usual. Most trees in Abu have already bloomed.
Today I witnessed a sad episode. The Red-wattled lapwing had a few days to go before its chicks were to hatch. The Daman, a whopping 10-footer plus awakened from his winter slumber and discovered the nest of the birds. The birds put on a fierce display of aggression towards the snake, but unfortunately, they could not protect their eggs from the slithering thief.

Before I my report on the international trail Marathon Mt Abu, I'd like to wish all the lovely ladies a "HAPPY WOMEN'S DAY." We want to see a larger number of Abuites participate in the marathon on March 29, 2020. If you register by March 8, 2020, I believe you will be eligible. There will be a registration discount for you.
Lihas Trivedi deserves special recognition for bringing Mt Abu to the forefront of the trail marathon for ten years in a row. Our compliments also go to the Brahma Kumaris' sports section, which has helped to make the marathon a popular event in this modest hill village in Rajasthan.
A marathon is an athletic event in which participants of all ages compete to complete an event, not so much to win as to participate and promote kindness and fellowship until they complete the event.
I won't go into detail about the upcoming Quarter Marathon. A half marathon and a 50km marathon for the rocker. Please see the link below for further information.

Weather update Mount Abu.;[ 27/12/2019 ]

Weather update Mount Abu.

Abuites woke up to a frosty morning. Last night was chilly and the chilly winds made it worse. A wonderful time to sit out in the garden and bask in the hot sun.
I recorded the temperature at 6:45 a.m. this morning.
