THE SPRING SEASON IN ABU – Spring is here in the Abode of the Gods.(19/02/2016)

Embracing the Beauty of an Early Spring in Abu - A Renewal Paradise

Spring arrives in most areas of the world in March, bringing new vitality to nature and symbolising a new beginning. However, if you are fortunate enough to find yourself at the lovely Abode of the Gods this year, you may be in for a pleasant surprise. I've noticed that spring has come early to this beautiful place, giving us a delightful sneak peek.
Just yesterday, I felt a warmth in this wonderful house that hinted at the impending approach of spring. I couldn't help but notice the small hints of spring when I stepped outside. The graceful Daman, a rat snake, appeared as an excellent sign in local legend. A mongoose hid nearby, watching the Daman as it moved into the warmth of the sun. As fresh shoots sprang, it painted the landscape with bright colours of green, a monument to nature's tenacity. A profusion of blossoming trees about to explode in a blaze of colour accompanied these comforting views. It felt as if the air itself was pulsating with anticipation of the approach of spring.
It overjoyed the occupants of the Abode of the Gods as the recent temperature increase leaves little doubt—spring is in the air. They slated it for the official celebration of this wonderful season on March 20th, which is a Sunday. By 10 a.m., local Abuites would have gathered to celebrate this momentous event with tremendous zeal and fervour, creating a spectacle you won't want to miss.
St. Mary's High School, an institution profoundly knit into the fabric of our town, chose to deviate from tradition in 2016 by opening its doors on February 14th. It has become a treasured ancient spring festival for the students, particularly the boarders and staff, a time of regeneration and togetherness.
A springtime visit to Abu is an opportunity not to be missed by those looking to renew their spirits and revitalise their beings. The location remains peaceful and enjoyable, unaffected by the overwhelming tourist crowds often found at popular attractions. Accommodations in nearby hotels are widely available, so you can fully immerse yourself in the calm serenity of this magnificent region.
Abu welcomes you with open arms this early spring, inviting you to experience the season of regeneration, indulge in its captivating natural beauty, and engage in the local festivals that define the Abode of the Gods. It's a piece of heaven on Earth, and it's waiting for you to discover and enjoy its own appeal. So, gather your belongings and let the spirit of spring take you to this wonderful spot!

Bera the Leopards Abode re-visited A flash trip (11 Feb 2016.) From Mount Abu

Bera the Leopards Abode re-visited

To visit Bera in such a short interval of time was for me an absorbing and delightful break from my monotonous life of sitting in my garden reading and photographing the occasional birds that pop up in this outlying area of the Abode of the Gods. My grandson’s keen desire to see the leopards in the wild was all that I needed to visit the Leopard Man of India.
I immediately planned a flash trip to Bera, as Keith had to report to the Boarding on The 14th Feb 2016. I recall visiting Bera on Valentine's Day in the year 2012. Here I had the good fortune to click Zara, the mother of Zia, whose photographs I posted below. My 2012 Trip http://footloosenfancyfree.blogspot.in/2012/02/incredible-bera.html

The Rover in me resides flash trip to Mori Bera

Mori Bera Summarized: Rediscovering the Wandering Spirit.

In the fabric of life, a small nudge from the past can ignite the dormant restlessness within. “If you don’t use it, you will lose it,” my father’s wise warning rang in my ears as I found myself in limbo following a life-changing injury. The relentless prodding of a few old friends shook me out of my stupor, driving me back into the enthralling worlds of travel and nature.
A phone call from Kunoo, a buddy who recognised the power of alluring adventure, was the impetus for my rebirth. He dangled a tempting proposition in front of me: a meeting with a mother leopard and her two cubs, a promise that ignited my wandering soul. I embarked on a journey to Mori Bera with two other close comrades, Harry and Abu’s courageous trekker Charles, resolved to break free from the shackles of routine.
The possibility of seeing my long-lost drinking companion after a lifetime brought an extra element of excitement to the adventure. Kunoo’s leopard safari turned out to be nothing short of paradise rediscovered. Zia, the stately leopardess, and her two playful pups became the objects of my camera, and I captured images that will live on in my mind forever. Zia was the child of Zara, a leopard who had been last seen in Bera three years before.
The excursion proceeded with a fantastic bird-watching trip to Jawai Dam, where nature revealed its splendour in pulsing hues. But not everything was perfect, as the sighting of the Indian Blue Bull, Nilgai, left a sorrowful note in my travels.
One shot of a deer piqued my interest, causing me to issue a challenge to the reader: uncover the unseen tale behind this routine moment in the forest. I urge you to experience my great admiration for nature’s beauties as I reveal images of Zia and her pups in upcoming postings, followed by fascinating birding pictures.
This brief excursion to Mori Bera developed into a soul-stirring expedition, a monument to the undying spirit of discovery that exists inside all of us. As my heart rushes with the excitement of the unknown, I urge you to join me on this virtual adventure and experience the beauty that lies in answering the call of the unknown.

BSNL 2016 in our Abode Mount Abu.

It's really frustrating to live in a town where there is only one Broadband provider. I’m sure if there were other competitive networks BSNL would have faded out long ago, as customers would have gone to a more reliable source of services offered.
It's the 4 Jan 16 today and I receive a message in my browser have a look at the snap shot I have inserted.

BSNL had made an announcement that all broadband connections will be upgraded to 2 mbps speed. This ingenuity is nothing but attracting people to go for the carrot offered. Please note, “This upgradation is only for the initial 1GB.”
I’m surprised at this move by BSNL, as it has customers that have used their services for donkey’s years. After one receives the notification as shown above that the user has reached the FUB limit the user is given a list for up gradation of Internet speed

Additional Data Transfer quota at higher speed *
Charges in Rs(Excl S.Tax)
2 GB    100
5 GB    200
10 GB   300
20 GB   500
*NOTE: The above data transfer quota will expire after exhausting the data usage quota opted by you or at the end of the month, whichever is earlier. (Service Taxes extra.)

Now as a customer after reading the above message I feel If I don’t take the carrot I’ll end up using a snail connection for the rest of the month. Here is a snapshot of a speed test I ran this morning.

Now all of you looking at my blog and who are using BSNL connection could you give some feedback on your experience.
Would you be suckered into using the top up plans for speed?
If not what additional resource would you opt for?
Have anyone used the top up plan, and what was your experience?
